Today’s digital world has lightened the photographer’s bag considerably, with post-processing tools capable of imitating the effects of many photographic filters. The circular polarizing filter, however, remains indispensable. Even the most cutting-edge image processing software is incapable of replicating the results attained using a polarizing filter. When sunlight reflects directly into the camera lens, this harsh light causes the remaining light to disperse, partially muting the colors captured by the sensor. The color data is not stored on the image file, thus no amount of post processing can restore the colors to their authentic hue.

Because the polarizing filter is such a vital tool of the trade, we at Vü accept nothing but the highest caliber in design and manufacturing standards. Vü circular polarizers deliver just that, providing optimum performance in saturating colors, minimizing reflections, and reducing haze caused by atmospheric reflections. To obtain optimal results using a circular polarizer, the angle of the camera lens should be at a 90-degree angle to the sun, and the polarizing filter must be rotated properly.

Our HiVü Polarization Optics provide a higher transmission of light than conventional polarizers. Not only does this make framing your image through the viewfinder easier, it also makes visualizing the polarizing effect simpler, making your use of the filter more effective. The end result is a vibrant image bursting with lush green foliage and deep blue skies, with richer contrasts and reduced reflections in certain conditions. The Vü polarizing filter can help to reduce surface reflections so that underwater scenes are become more vivid when used at the appropriate angle. It is simply a must-have for the true image aficionado.

Both the Ariel and Sion lines of Circular Polarizing Filters feature the same standard of excellence in polarizing. The Ariel filters measure 4.5mm in thickness, while the Sion filters are only 3.4mm thick. The thinner Sion filters allow for use with wider angle lenses without vignetting. Vü Sion Circular Polarizing Filters also feature our Flat Wave Coating, making it the premium choice for the most adventurous photographers and filmmakers.
